Bradford Toney

I’ve loved making things for as long as I can remember, and wrote my first program when I was 12 years old, I started off with C++ and made very crude unix terminal games.

In 2012 I was part of the Winter '12 YCombinator batch and cofounded the medical messaging startup Medigram. Our product was studied at Stanford and results were published in The Journal of Hospital Medicine.

After that I found myself working on frontend, backend and iOS apps at InstaEDU where we got acquired by Chegg. After the acquistion I shifted my focus to data science and search engineering. My primary focus was to make sure that tutors and students were matched effectively. My team worked with data science techniques such as MCMC, Bayesian tricks, learning to rank models, etc.

After the acquisition I spent a year traveling and found many places such as Japan to be very influential on me. Spending time abroad gave me a much needed perspective in my life.

I joined hearsay systems and was a principal engineer focused on creating leverage in the organization. I was instrumental in the introduction of React and the move from python 2 to python 3.

After that I found myself in New York and working for a small but very advanced FinTech, which focused on loan portfolios: dv01 . The platform is a sophisticated data analysis, reporting and ingestion platform.

Today, I am work on cassie finance.
